What are non-geographic numbers (NGNs)?
NGNs are used more and more frequently by call centres to facilitate the effective management of their inbound calls. NGNs are so called because they do not relate to a particular geographical location, like normal telephone numbers do. An NGN does not replace your existing telephone number but rather sits in front of it and becomes the number that potential/existing customers see on advertising and promotional materials.
How many types of NGN do you provide?
There are various types of NGNs available and FLR Spectron offers the following:
- 0800 – Caller pays nothing, number holder pays full cost of the call.
- 0845 – Caller pays local rate, no call charges to number holder.
- 0870 – Caller pays national rate, number holder pays nothing & receives revenue.
- 0871 – Caller pays special rate, number holder pays nothing & receives revenue.
- 0906 – Caller pays special tariff, number holder receives revenue.
I already use 0800, 0845, 0870, 0906 numbers what can you do for me?
FLR Spectron has an agreement with all major carriers. All you have to do is agree to bring or 'port' your number to FLR Spectron and we will mirror your existing service and make significant savings for you.
What is 'Porting'?
Number Porting means that you can request the transfer of an existing NGN from the company that currently delivers your inbound calls, to an alternative supplier providing they have a porting agreement in place with your existing supplier.
