THE CLIENT

The Altonwood Group opened its first course at Westerham in 1997, and they have been developing its portfolio ever since.

Altonwood now boasts five fine courses in Surrey and Kent – Godstone, Surrey National, Westerham, Woldingham and their latest acquisition; Top 100 ranked The Addington. Their courses offer an excellent choice for golfers of every standard and progression for a lifetime of golf.

THE CHALLENGE

The group had a mix of end of life ISDN lines and legacy telephone systems; all calls between the clubs were external calls and chargeable. There was no global directory and no visibility of user status. FLR Telecoms carried out site audits and ensured all network cabling was compliant and installed with new POE switches at each site.

THE SOLUTION

We retained all existing golf club numbers and ported them successfully to our 1-Voice hosted platform. New direct dial numbers (DDI’s) were issued to all users as they had never had them, new hunt groups were created that ring across different sites. Voicemail to email was introduced to users giving them greater management of voicemails. New Polycom VVX colour screen phones were installed in the offices and Yealink IP DECT phones in the bar and pro shop areas.

TESTIMONIAL

“FLR Telecoms proposed to bring our telephony into an IP world using their 1-Voice hosted system. We now have a modern, flexible telephone solution; all our sites are connected, and we can dial each other’s extensions to extension. We like the voicemail to email feature and the direct dial numbers, which means suppliers to certain departments can call them directly, bypassing the main receptions.”
